Ticket sales climbed 133% over its inaugural run, and a Justin BUA painting sold for $1.2 million within the first two hours, setting the tone for an unforgettable four days to follow.

Paintings, sculptures, glass, mixed-media creations and more started at about $3,000 and extended well into the seven figures, offering entry points for both new buyers and serious collectors.

“We saw strong results across the floor, and they weren’t limited to any one medium or style,” said Scottsdale Art Week Co-Founder Trey Brennen. “That kind of broad activity is exactly what you hope to see at a fair like this.”

Attendance held strong from open to close each day despite unusually warm temperatures across the region, with WestWorld’s expansive and air-conditioned North Hall providing plenty of space for guests to move comfortably and circulate between booths, exhibitions, installations and scheduled programming. Many galleries reported hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales and outlined plans to return for future installments, with upcoming Scottsdale Art Week dates already locked in through 2029.

I grew up in a neighborhood in New York City surrounded by chaos, economic hardship and uncertainty, so I understand in my bones what it feels like to stand on the edge of an era about to be transformed, and I painted that feeling with everything I had.”

Among the emerging artists was sculptor James Doran-Webb, who had his first U.S. solo exhibition at the Gladwell & Patterson booth and sold eight out of the 12 sculptures he exhibited.

With record heat expected across the Valley, Scottsdale Art Week presented by Scottsdale Ferrari arrives at just the right time, offering an indoor, climate-controlled alternative to outdoor events on an unusually warm March weekend. Unlike many early spring special events and festivals in Arizona, Scottsdale Art Week takes place inside, uniting 120 international galleries and showcasing blue-chip, Indigenous, Western and LatinX works ranging from around $3,000 to seven figures.

Festivities begin Thursday afternoon with the First Look preview, giving collectors and members of the media an opportunity to view works before the public opening. Thursday evening’s Opening Night Vernissage continues the celebration with live music by Lunar Calendar, a wearable-art runway show by Galina Mihaleva of ASU FIDM and award presentations, with proceeds benefiting Phoenix Art Museum.

Four-Day International Art Fair Returns to WestWorld of Scottsdale This Spring With 120 Galleries From 15 Countries. With galleries from across the country and around the world converging and a slate of esteemed honorees ready to step into the spotlight, Scottsdale Art Week presented by Scottsdale Ferrari returns to WestWorld of Scottsdale March 19 – 22, 2026. It all kicks off with an Opening Night Vernissage Thursday, March 19, giving guests a glimpse of the art, awards, entertainment and cultural offerings awaiting them throughout the remaining three days of festivities.

Set for 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026, the Opening Night Vernissage sponsored by Gila River Resorts & Casinos will serve as the capstone of the second edition of Scottsdale Art Week. The 2025 inaugural event welcomed 106 galleries and 14,000 attendees while generating millions of dollars in sales. In addition to getting a sneak peek of participating galleries and live musical performances by Lunar Calendar, known for merging classical chamber music with contemporary sounds and captivating visuals, Opening Night guests will see Indigenous artist and photographer Cara Romero receive Scottsdale Art Week’s first-ever Indigenous Artist of the Year Award, which recognizes artistic talents whose works highlight Indigenous identity and spotlight Native life today.

The 2026 Scottsdale Art Week Lifetime Achievement Award will be proudly presented to James Ballinger, Director Emeritus of the Phoenix Art Museum, in recognition of his decades-long commitment to advancing the arts in Arizona. Under his visionary leadership, the Museum achieved national prominence, expanded its collections and programs, and strengthened its role as a cornerstone of the Southwest’s cultural life.

“James Ballinger’s influence on the cultural fabric of Arizona cannot be overstated,” says Scottsdale Art Week Fair Director Amy Gause. “Through forty years of dedication, he elevated Phoenix Art Museum’s profile while fostering a deep sense of community engagement with the arts. It is a true honor to recognize him on Opening Night, and his legacy is reflected not only in the institution he strengthened, but in the vibrant arts community he helped build.”

In addition, Scottsdale Art Week will introduce its inaugural Philanthropist of the Year Award, honoring Francis Najafi, Founder and CEO of Pivotal Group. A transformative force in real estate development and civic engagement, Najafi is recognized for his exceptional philanthropy and unwavering support of arts, education and community-building initiatives. Together, these honors reflect Scottsdale Art Week’s commitment to celebrating leadership that shapes culture, fosters creativity and invests in the future of the arts.

Slated to draw 120 galleries, Scottsdale Art Week continues to make its mark on the global arts scene and takes place during one of Arizona’s best travel seasons, with Major League Baseball’s Spring Training, sunny skies and ideal temperatures drawing visitors to the Valley from across the nation and around the world. This global interest also reflects Scottsdale’s status as the fastest-growing city for millionaires, with its expanding collector base drawing strong exhibitor demand, evidenced by four-fifths of exhibitor booths selling out four months ahead of the celebration.

The 2026 Opening Night Vernissage benefits Phoenix Art Museum, widely recognized as the preeminent and largest art museum in the Southwestern United States. The evening offers guests exclusive early access to view and acquire works on show ahead of the general public and will feature a fashion presentation of wearable art curated by Galina Mihaleva of Arizona State University’s FIDM.

Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week made its debut in the national arts scene, with about 14,000 attendees descending upon WestWorld of Scottsdale.

The four-day celebration, which was held this past March, welcomed some 100 galleries comprising 120 booths from nine countries and showcased historic, contemporary, Western, and Indigenous art through a series of gallery exhibitions, fashion shows, and immersive installations, according to a press release.

Among the many galleries reporting strong sales and steady foot traffic were Melissa Morgan Fine Art, out of Palm Desert, California, and the Casterline | Goodman Gallery out of Aspen, Colorado.

The Tanya Weddemire Gallery from Brooklyn, New York, also had a highly successful sales weekend, event organizers tell the Digital Free Press, as did Scottsdale’s own Larsen Gallery, which was one of many local ones participating in the event.

“Our goal was to create a high-caliber art experience celebrating both incredible art and the broader culture that surrounds it,” said Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week co-owner Trey Brennen. “After seeing the energy inside the venue and the volume and quality of the works sold, I think it’s safe to say we created something with staying power.”

Tanya Weddemire, the founder and CEO of the Tanya Weddemire Gallery, echoed these sentiments while expressing plans to return to Scottsdale in 2026.

“Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week was an unforgettable experience in participating in their inaugural show,” Ms. Weddemire said.

“It was an honor to showcase the works of Guy Stanley Philoche, King Saladeen, and Gregory Saint Amand in this dynamic new market. With one sold-out artist and sales across all three, we connected with incredible new collectors and felt the energy of a truly vibrant event. The warmth, excitement,t and support were unmatched, and we can’t wait to return next year.”

There’s a new art fair in the Southwest, where key players hope to expand the visibility of the region’s vibrant contemporary art offerings.

“People assume all the art here is cowboys and Indians standing around cactus,” quips art dealer Trey Brennen, who co-founded the event. “We want to highlight the diversity of art in the Southwest.”

Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week, which took place March 20-23, 2025, at WestWorld, gave gallerists a rare opportunity to showcase a broad range of work in an art fair setting. It’s a significant addition to the arts ecosystem of the Southwest, where outdoor art festivals, rather than formal fairs akin to Art Basel Miami Beach or the Armory Show in New York, are the norm.

For gallerists and artists, the event was a way to not only increase visibility and sales, but also catalyze conversations and build community during a time when arts and culture face challenges on multiple fronts, from ideology to funding.

The debut event did just that, according to artist Thomas “Breeze” Marcus (Tohono O’odham), whose elaborate line work draws on basket-weaving traditions.

“There was a mixture of a lot of different art,” recalls Marcus, who spent four days live painting at the back of the venue, near a space where several panels featuring primarily Arizona-based artists and art professionals took place each day.

Marcus is part of Earth Maker Studios in Phoenix, which had a small booth showing works by Matt Dickson, Frank Gonzales, Dwayne Manuel (Onk Akimel O’odham), and Marcus.

“Local galleries were well-represented and it was great being on home turf,” reflects Marcus, who is represented by Blue Rain Gallery of Santa Fe and Durango, which also had a booth at the event. He adds, “It’s important to have national and international perspectives for artistic growth, and I had some great conversations and networking during the fair.” Read more >

A Montana artist is doing Something Good to give back to Arizona tribes. Artist Ben Miller specializes in “fly cast painting.” This technique is similar to fly fishing, where Miller casts a rod with a paintbrush at the end thousands of times to create his artwork. Miller spent some time with the Colorado River Indian Tribes to create a painting of the river. He spoke with tribal members who gave him insight into the river’s cultural significance. Miller sold his work for $15,000 at the Scottsdale Ferrari Art Week in March. He is donating half of that to the Arizona tribes, which are known for their efforts to conserve the Colorado River water… read more >
